Eat In

Margie and Don have been involved with creating great food for a long time having been part of emerging contemporary restaurants in Albury from 1986-92. Since then they have continued that passion while pursuing other careers.

Our philosophy revolves around finding good local ingredients, making from scratch and meeting the needs of our guests. We respond to your dietary requirements by finding creative solutions. We source wine from local and Australian regions to add. If you have found wine you would like to pair with the food by all means bring it along.

Breakfast is served when you are ready. Tea and coffee, muesli, yoghurt and bread are to be found in the kitchen. A coffee pod machine, plunger and an array of tea pots are available. Sugar, tea bags and biscuits are also in the kitchen. Cutlery and more crockery are in the sideboard. Wine and water glasses are in the cabinet next to the fireplace.

We will also offer you a cooked breakfast and discuss that with you the evening before. Selections include, omelettes, fritters, toast, pancakes with an array of extras from eggs and bacon to smoked trout, avocado, tomato and mushrooms. Fruit is always on offer.

When you make a booking at Glen Avon Country House you can request a dinner reservation as well. In 2024 dinner is charged at $75 for 2 courses and $90 for 3. We will send you a few sample menus and you can discuss the finer details with us. We have an extensive wine collection and can offer you a complementary glass or provide a bottle at a reasonable rate to add to your meal. Dinner will be served at a mutually agreeable time. We usually serve this in the dining area, however, you can eat outside under the pergola, on the verandah or by the pool. We have 3 rooms so you may also have dinner companions. If you prefer to eat alone that can be arranged.

Payment for dinner can be made on our Square or you can deposit directly.
